So, how did it go in ATL? Did they make an offer?

AWAC didn't want to talk to me on the spot. I got the "HR will be in touch" line. I figure its either due my lack of recent time or that I told them I'm not available for training till July (have a baby due in June).

Same with me as cbire880 we were down there and met up and both talked with them. they seemed really nice, and asked if i was available w in two weeks and i said yes, but they then said that they need to review my resume more and that since i only have 50-100 hrs in the last 6 mo. that it may not be enough, but they will be in touch. Im hoping they will call me this week and ask if im willin to go. If not maybe in the near future i will hear from them. I thought it was strange, since 4 other regionals told me they want me to come to their headquarters so we can do the sim and talk about class dates. They all said theyd be in touch this week. Overall ATL was a great exp. I am 25 and prob one of the youngest there this weekend. Most everyone was going for the majors FEdEx, Delta, COA etc. But there were a handful of guys in there 30s and 40s looking at regionals too. Im happy with what i learned and also the airlines I spoke with. AWAC is only hiring as of now " 120 pilots this year" , from what I hear though I think it will be a lot more than that if the so called "floodgates are open" ....only time will tell i guess. Thank you o all of you that have provided info over the past 2weeks for me! I ll keep you posted on what I decide.

They took me upstairs to talk. Things seemed to be going fine, but near the end, he asked how much time in the last six months. I told him about 40-50 hours and it all ended soon after that. They gave me an app and told me to send it in, but I was wondering if my lack of recency was a deal killer. Also I didn't bring my logs which I think would have helped. I'm trying to figure out if anyone got hired on the spot, or if they were just screening for real interviews at HQ. Anyway, good luck. It seems like a good place to work. I'll let you know if I hear anything back from them soon.

ya good luck DAsh dog, I really didnt hear of anyone getting hired on the spot, but I was surprised at the lack of interest (thats what i think) of the regionals at this Seminar. I mean, here they are some with TT as low as 250 hrs and there were not any lines at any booths at this fair. I know all the expereienced guys were there for UPS ,Delta, COA etc. but with the need for pilots the way it is, I cannot believe that there werent more young guys there like myself appyling. REgarldess good luck and who knows, maybe they will call us this week after they review how many people s resumes areworth looking at. Let me know what you hear.

I'm willing to bet that they have an unwritten recent time minimum like ExpressJet. That's what's kept me from there as well. I just wish if they were going to hold people to lines like that, that they would publish them in the requirements. I was offered a job with Republic at ATL, so I guess it doesn't matter if they call me or not. They seemed much more willing to work with me on the availability issue.
