I wonder if you could take an English lesson over Zoom?!

I think for a lot of mid tier business, zoom
will be more sustainable for a longer period of time. At the in the same breath, all it’ll take is one zoom call to get hacked or leaked and some intellectual property or market strategy to get into the public and that’ll be the end of it.

I say the same thing about single pilot or pilotless operations on a large scale. Put one into the dirt and it’s over, look at the Max.

One company i work for does not use zoom but had their own program made for that reason. They have invested huge amounts of money to be a virtual company now and the future. They are a fortune 500 company.

Thats pretty interesting, I didn’t know that. Regardless I’ll agree that some won’t come back to business travel on the same scale but nothing seals a deal like a handshake. It’ll take time but it’ll come back. We’re still in for some turbulence for sure.

I definitely agree some things are better done in person. But like after every recession society renovates how it does things. Business travel will come back a little but it wont be the same.

I said this somewhere else but think it needs saying here. It appears people are comparing companies using zoom (or their own platforms) so employees don't need to come to the office daily with people that travel for business. While there is some overlap in motive and benefit here for sure, those two things really are very different.

To be clear, many business meetings and events done which required travel via airline, have moved to Zoom and other video conference methods.

NBAA, OshKosh, the Marine Corps Marathon, New York Auto Show, Academy Awards, and numerous graduation ceremonies at military basic training bases have been cancelled or postponed due to COVID.

corporate america cannot sit idle, business must continue, the wheels most keep rolling. Zoom etc is an interim solution to palms to flesh and wine-dine clients. IF this becomes a permanent solution is yet to be seen.

“Face-to-face contact and visibility is important. That said, no one’s going anywhere,” said Peter Bragdon, Columbia’s chief administrative officer.

Y’all are all missing the boat with “Zoom can’t replace XYZ” arguments. Revenue is down about 85% year over year. That will bankrupt every airline eventually. If demand comes back fast enough, many will survive.

The key issue is how fast demand returns. The greatest challenge to airlines will be things that slow the rate of rise in revenue. Online meetings will do just that

I'll get right on that.
