I really don't see that happening. CEO's are not fond of admitting that they screwed up or made a bad decision.

Embraer is still manufacturing new 145s...at least according to Embraer's website which says the firm-order backlog for 145s is 53 airframes. In fact, they delivered a brand-spanking-new 145 to the Nigerian government just this past month.

I believe they are still making 145s....just not in Brazil. They built another plant in China(I believe) to meet the demands of that growing market.

So wait for 53 aircraft to get built, or start flying now. I personally wished they had waited, done a lil' planning beyond "Hey, this looks fun" and gone down there with a lil' more preparation instead of having crews trying to play ops agent and get everyone to do what we need just to get outta the gate even close to on-time. The guys who have spent some time down in IAH know what I mean...

And some of those airplanes have been sitting a lot longer than 2006. And by my count, 2007 - 3 years is middle of 2004.

Middle of 2004, independence had just started (June 16, 2004) and didn't have any CRJ's parked in the desert... First furloughs were November of 04.

Don't be surprised if Bedford trades CRJ's for ERJ-170's on the CAL side.

He's ALREADY talking about it.

Glad to hear that XJT is doing well... still trying to get used to the paint-scheme.

Wouldn't that be a kick in the nuts for Xjet. Go ahead Slaab, make your wise crack about the 170 pay at Republic. This is about where you do that, isn't it?

Well, more power to Bedford if he can get CAL to go around their scope clause and allow anything bigger than 50 seats. A lot of the CAL pilots are still bitter that we "took their jet flying", so I'll give a snowball a better chance in hell than kitty operating 170s on the CAL side.
