Well, one of the dumbest for sure. It’s certainly right up there!

We seem to be in a new paradigm, and the old cycle model doesn't appear to be holding up. What's the new model? Dunno. But ground war in Europe, involving the red army, hasn't brought the house down, at least not yet.
I also highly doubt we will re-experience the lost decade. The regional expansion had a lot to do with mainline not hiring for many years, there is no ability for that to happen in the next decade at a minimum.

Let's see how well this post ages.

I love playing that game. It was especially fun reading posts a few years ago from the seasoned veterans here saying “the current coronavirus in Asia shouldn’t have a major impact on our flying.” Three months later everything was basically shut down.

A good reminder that so much of what is said here is worded as if it is a guarantee or fact. In reality, 90% is just peoples wild guesses. Don’t bet your future on Internet forum advice and take a majority of the info here as satire

Well said… I’m an outsider looking in at making the career change later this year. A lot of things said here are just wild guesses and wishful thinking.

Share prices drop when said company is spending money to buy another.....so you can't use that as a signal

This right here. If I had a dollar for all the people on here that for years that chirped about the next recession cycle is right around the corner just like the talking parrots on CNBC then I could retire by now. Well they were dead wrong. Recession wasn't even on the radar until COVID happened. Even with inflation who knows what is going to happen. The world is a different economy with a different mindset. COVID proved that.

Probably badly, the government will obviously do something stupid(e.g. Covid shutdown) yet again.
