They don't offer the part time thing for the convenience of the members, that's done so they don't have to pay full-time people until they need them. They do have to pay for some training obviously.

Yep. Having a part time option to keep pilots current in case a war breaks out makes complete sense for the military. It's expensive, but the capability is worth it and it's still way cheaper that maintaining an active force at full strength all the time.

The airlines have a completely different set of needs, and also very different budgetary constraints. It doesn't make sense for the airlines to run a staffing pool the same way the military does, and so they don't do it.

Gojet down to 347 pilots... loss of 37 pilots since Sept. 1st. That equals 10% of the pilot group. Still no FO pay raises. Sounds like majority were FOs that left as well.

80-90 CAs. 5 in this months upgrade class which is about how many have upgraded in the past 4 months. This company always relied om direct entry CAs and now there are none out there

Out of curiosity, can anybody share roughly what their most recent seniority list shows? Would be interesting to track who is growing/shrinking in light of the new pay rates at numerous carriers.

It would also be interesting if it was broke out CA vs FO to get an idea as to how long you’ll be sitting reserve and how much open time there is based on carrier choice…

Edv just lost 97 in Sept and hired only 33. Already on pace to lose over 90 again in October

The killer is the CA to FO mismatches developing. Doesn’t matter how many FOs you have, FO hours are limited to the number of CA hours available to fill the left seat.

Mesa currently has more CAs at every base than FOs.

Skywest and others are the reverse, hence the big DEC bonuses.
