for all you new guys who were wondering about reserve in JFK, i sat long call reserve for half of may, june and july and i hold a line in august. Long call out of JFK is not that bad. Alot of getting paid to sit at home. Cant complain one bit

Okay... thanks, that's the time frame I was expecting. Is crash padding out there tough or are there an abundance of places to stay? Also, what does per-diem usually average out to each month. Just trying to get a general idea of how to budget.

You had asked a couple posts back about IOE. I completed my check ride in late April, and I completed IOE with 41 hours of flying on Fathers Day, 6 weeks later. I had the first three or four trips I was assigned for IOE taken from me due to others needing more time. It was a full three weeks before my first line flight after the sim ride. Enjoy the time off, after that, it's pedal to the metal. I was on my first trip three day after the IOE sign-off. Going to try the L2 long call out from DEN in Aug. Should be interesting, but at least I'll be able to be at home instead of some crappy crashpad in a questionable neighborhood in Queens . . .
