Go to a airport.. sit outside of a KCM line. And watch every pilots bag. You will get your answer… (LW)

That’s what I figured. Is it necessary to get the stealth premier? Or are lower versions fine? I don’t want to spend too much if I don’t have to… but if it’s necessary and worth having the top product, I’m willing to pay top dollar.

Luggageworks quality isn’t there imo. Overly bulky and heavy for little gain. Briggs is a nicer, lighter option with lifetime warranty and crew discount. I’ll never buy LW again.

Make sure your company doesn't supply bags before you buy any. Republic orders their pilots bags in indoc plus annual allowances for new ones.

Is there a way to add a J-hook to a Briggs & Riley bag?

Forgive me, but with what regionals are paying NOW, it's hard to hear/read someone say they don't want to spend money of something if they don't have to.

Especially something is going to last you years.

Fork out the money for the bag you want. While I'd agree that LW quality has declined, I got 10 years out of bag 1, currently on year 14 of bag 2.

Not entirely true for Republic. Yes, you get a roller bag and flight bag (or similar) upon hire but the roller bag is not an annual benefit. It is, however, every 4 years and to note, if you leave within your first year you have to repay the cost of the luggage. Annual benefit does include new wheels or handle for the roller bag, if needed, along with a replacement small flight bag (or cooler, etc.) FWIW, the stealth bag is the only roller bag offered.

I’m going on year 3 of the LW Aurora 22” (non-expandable version) and still going strong. I like it better than the stealth. YMMV.
