So much hate......

Respectfully, it should be all or nothing. There are guys here with avatars that are not sexual in nature, but inappropriate for a number of other reasons, political affiliations, racist in nature, animal abuse, the list goes on...have you asked them to change them as well? So where do you draw the line? Please answer on the board, as I want everyone else to see your answer. Thanks.

I can't read every post, monitor every avatar, chase every link, (or read every cute comment put into the profile fields) - I fly the line just like you, and I have other responsibilities that limit the time I can spend here.
That said, we rely on you, the APC community, to maintain the rules outlined in the forum terms of service. Whether it's a post, an avatar, or anything else that is displayed on the this forum - if it violates the TOS, please use the "report bad post" tool at the bottom left corner of each and every post.
I'm not asking anyone to behave like a boy scout, but please keep it civil and within the Terms of Service outlined in the forum rules.
Users such as yourself that have made hundreds of posts have ownership of this forum, it is a community and just like on your block. Despite the obvious differences, it's up to all of us to help maintain this board at a certain level of civility.
I can't do it alone - if you see something you think is off color or doesn't belong because it violates the forum rules please let us know. The report bad post tool is the best way, although a PM or email works too.
Maybe it would be worth starting a new thread to discuss where the standards should be in this forum?

Uhhh....I know of one Streamer at UPS and that person was quick to point out they were a street Capt. We have some scabs as well. It's hard to be perfect, but we try....
I don't see any reason to believe that the "sentiment on this board" is any different than an average cross section of opinion you'd find on any subject. If this board is so negative about a single issue, there must be a good reason for it. It may sadly be true that the folks doing the hiring at the majors don't care about how one entered the industry, but you can't deny that the the average cross section here at this board, and at the others, ain't too impressed with Gulfstream PFJ'ers.

My point was that the 'average cross section' here doesn't make hiring decisions. What's going to happen when the 250 hr pilots getting hired at regionals without PFT get on with these carriers? How will they be disparaged?

Well, once you hit 10 posts (I think), you can do a search and find out for yourself...

So you are thankful that a person who may or may not fly (and who probably doesn't fly for the company) says you're a good enough pilot. Personally, I'm more interested in what coworkers believe to be important skills since that's who I'll fly with. There's nothing wrong with getting hired with low time, it's all about how you handle it. If a 300-hour guy gets hired and is sharp, people will be impressed. If he makes bad decisions and is difficult to work with, the same people will wonder how he got hired.
