Comair/jfk cost of living

Lol.. crammed for a week with the gleim book and got a 71 the day before my interview. Got hired. I think the way they look at it is if you pass, you got an A, you fail, you get an F. From one of my buddies on the line, they want you to take it before you start class so they don't have to pay for you to take it when you upgrade.

V1, Another thing to remember is that reserves get a 2hour call out in JFK. So that may give you a few more options, maybe in NJ or Conn. But for the most part you are going to need roommates. I think the line between permanent residence and a crash pad are pretty blurred in the JFK domicile.
Comair is a good regional airline. The people there are fantastic. I enjoyed my time there. The problem is that it is a regional airline. the pay is low and the reserve system is tough on the pilots. The schedulers are for the most part nice folks, they just have to work in a substandard system. Just remember, Comair is a good place to pay your dues and get some jet experience. Comair is not a career airline! Good luck and have fun.

I only know one person out of my class DOING ioe IN JFK, therefore they provide you with a hotel, in fact I am deadheading to CVG tomorrow, and they are putting me up in the Hilton, so they answer is YES unless you do IOE in JFK which is pretty rare (wish I could have though) the kids that got it didnt want it.....lol

I'm about to start IOE in CVG. I just found my own room for $400 in Richmond Hill. One block away from the bus and two from lots of shops and resturants. Pretty safe part too. I'm just going to stick it out in JFK, as I've always wanted to live in a big city, at least for awhile. Its up to you if you want to share a room with beds or want a private room and pay a little. Since I really have no other place to live right now, the later is my plan. Check out Crewcommute.com or crashpads.com for some ideas. Hope I can help out, since I can answer the question asked
