Comair updates?
Much shorter than new-hire. It depends on how long you have been furloughed. They have divided the class into 4 individual classes. For the voluntary guys(off 7 months), They have 4 days of ground school, 3 sims, then the checkrides. For the January 09 guys, Its more like 7 or 8 ground days and 5 or so sims.(I think. I didn't actually see their schedule but I heard them talking.) basically 2 weeks for voluntary and 3 for involuntary. Some guys leave for a week, then come back and start to stagger the sims.

Trust me when I say stay away from comair. They are done. I do believe that the pilots will move over to compass so their job will just transfer. I dont see a flow back due to there is word that Delta will be hiring again soon. But Comair will not be around by the end of this year. I also know that ASA is picking up 100 aircraft. A majority of these A/C are coming from Comair. ASA, who will be renamed Atlantic Southeast, Yea they are doing away with the ASA name and just going to be called Atlantic Southeast, will start hiring to cover those aircraft. The CRJ50 will be gone in about 3 years. Comair has been on the chopping block for some time.
There is also rumors of DL hiring close to 300 pilots by the Fall.
If that turns out to be true, then it's a little scary about what the prophet has predicted for the future of Comair....perhaps that too is true.
