So Trailblazer, how many more guys do you need to spook before you get your Comair recall letter?
I don't think you should count the voluntaries in that number..it's pretty much a given that they're going to bypass.

24 accepted, and 13 denied..so out of 38...13 said no..but still..34% saying NO is a pretty big number for the 1/19 guys..very interested to see what starts happening if/when the 11/5 or 10/5 guys start coming back.

I was thinking 30-40% will bypass, and it looks like that number was pretty spot on in this last round..a good chunk of 50 more INVOL recalls would be very very telling.

FWIW -

I just called HR to update some things. The HR guy said they expect to have a huge amount of recalls by the end of the year. I asked where this was coming from and he said he heard it directly from DS.

Again, take it FWIW. I'm just passing on what I was told this morning.

Hope everyone is doing well.

I hope you are right.

According to the Gospel by Trailblazer 3:16, Super Regional Airline will be taking everything from us.

Hey Trailblazer I got a question for you? Are you a chick? Some of your post has a famine tone to it? I'm wondering.

Mr. Sakamano,

It's good to hear from you. How is everything going?. You still out of the country?. Anyhow, welcome back to this mayhem.

Am I the only one who thinks Super Regional Airline sounds like an anime character?

I'm back. Had enough of being away from my family for a while. I just turned down a domestic 135 job for the same reason. Waiting to see what's up with the industry before I get back in.

I've been posting a lot about the ASA/Vietnam thing. It's setting a really dangerous precedence for ex-pat/contract flying and there are a bunch of misinformed fools at ASA jumping at the "opportunity" to work in Vietnam for sub-par regional type wages.

Hopefully things are beginning to turn around. However, the UPS announcement is disturbing.

I think the next several weeks will be telling for Comair, but who really knows?

I agree with the Comair statement.
If Freedom contract is up on Aug 01, and seems like the only feeder for DL able to pick that all up (in its entirety) is Comair, in order to have everything in place (training, upgrades, etc) on time, recalls must happen no later than first week of June. If they don't happen, then to me it's a sure sign of what DL has in mind for OH. These 10-14 days are going to wreck hell on the nerves. But, I'm also convinced most of us will be flying by end of year. Many signs out there for some changes in a few companies (ASA, AE, etc).
Anyhow, not sure about the UPS thing. Pretty much confined to the Regional forum only.

If I read the last 20 pages of the "Comair Updates" thread, am I caught up on the most significant "news" for the past 15 months? Or do I need further Cliff's notes?

If I were management I would say/do the same thing! Guess what? We start contract negotiations in the fall and mgmt. wants concessions. The majority of furloughees are desperate for a job or want to go back flying an RJ, so they will be the first ones to vote yes for a crappy contract if mgmt. says agree to this or you we will have to furlough again, because we are still too expensive and there is an "unexpected" drop in block hours and DL is re-assigning our aircraft come March '11, etc.

People out on furlough don't get a vote.
