Congrats to any Comair guys/gals going to Omni. It was the best and worst job I've ever had all rolled into one. Great planes, valuable type ratings (PIC typed in the 75/76 or 777), interesting destinations (Shannon, Bishkek, Kuwait, Shannon, Anchorage, Shannon, Hawaii, Shannon, Ramstein, Shannon, Djibouti, Shannon, Bucharest, Shannon, Dubai. Did I mention Shannon?), and an awesome group of pilots to work with.
However, it is terrible company to work for. Management treats the employees like crap (worse than Comair and Delta treated us if you can believe that!), flight attendants are encouraged to write each other up as well as pilots over anything (many of the lead flight attendants think they are in charge of the airplane --- oh and watch out because lots of them like to play the race card!!!), a contract with holes in it so big that you can fly the 777 through it and long trips away from home. And enjoy your coach class middle seat on the 10+ hour flights to the Middle East.
It will be good experience though. I'm glad I did it, but I'm also glad I got out of it. It's especially great for the FOs with little to no PIC time! It'll help make up for the lack of PIC time. Go do it and enjoy it. I just wish the novelty wouldn't have worn off so quickly for me.

Just a heads up to any of my fellow OH pilots....Air Wisconsin wants Comair pilots pretty badly. Might be a good lead to those who want to stay in flying. I have turned them down twice and they called me again today and left a voicemail.
I have made my choice to leave flying. Anyone looking for a flying job might want to check them out. Good Luck!

You've been gone too long. No one is ever in EINN anymore. Last time I was there, three pilots and 6 FAs. But I'm heading back this week, I'll keep ya posted on the numbers, ha. The new hot spot is Trinidad, however you were a triple guy so you would still be stuck in KWI or FRU. Anyway, hope all is well over at VA!

I thought they couldn't take more than 25$ a paycheck for uniform reimbursement...
Didn't they try to do that after the first furlough?
I ask because I got a check for vacation payout... but they kept it all for uniforms...
Is it worth arguing over? Would I have a chance?

That is unless the union struck a deal with the company as part of the closing LOA that all outstanding payroll uniform deductions will be the companies responsibility.
