From what I understand you don't have to be displaced to bid to another category as long as you're seniority can hold it (as long as you're talking f.o. to f.o. or capt. to capt.). I know it's B.S. but from what I was told by planning is that as long as someone senior to you bids a new position and they can hold it they are entitled to that new position. Even though you bid the 50 with a conditional bid, if you are not displaced out of the 70 then it does not matter what conditions you had in your bid. Like I said earlier the percentages apparently have nothing to do with bidding out of a specific seat, only into the seat during a displacement. (I've had a few drinks so maybe only I know what I'm trying to say!)

The article also says we're looking at parking 28 50s by the end of the year. It's hard to keep track of how many planes we're losing, but it's the first time I've heard that number tossed out there.

There is absolutely a possibility that Delta will be unable to cancel the 900 contract. Mesa may not be able to gain an injunction for the reasons you stated but Delta may have to put these a/c back in service with Mesa or pay a huge penalty when mesa sues and If they win.

That is the first Date I have seen in conjunction with the ERJ lawsuit. Hopefully that is the case because I just want to know one way or the other. I presume the appeal to the injunction would have to be heard before the court case because why hear an appeal on an injunction after the lawsuit is settled.
If anyone remembers, before "Messa" filed and got thier injunction, Comair was readying for growth. I think once this whole mess with them is sorted out, Comair may grow again.
I hope it is resolved soon, this thread has taken a depressing tune as of late. J.O. is fighting for his life, United, Delta, USAIR -all are cancelling or will not renew thier contract with him. Just a matter of time before that man is an afterthough, he celebrated at ruining Aloha, what comes around goes around, he ****ed a lot of people off at what he did to Aloha, he deserves what's coming to him.

Completely agree... If this court case actually gets heard and resolved in September and Delta is on the winning side I expect us to not furlough at all. All the displacements would be canceled and we would probably see the return of the amount of flying we had in August.

Isn't there a min number that Delta can shrink our fleet to? Woulnd't our contract hold up in court? Unless Delta just reassigns us to witness relocation.

Our contract has a baseline fleet number however delta can pull all the flying they want from us. You know what im talking about if you have seen remote parking lately. Maybe when he speaks of removing 25 a/c from our fleet he is referring to removing 25 a/c worth of flying.
