Comair updates?

So why did this guy leave? Could it be he didn't want to deal with the wet comms coming soon? (Speculation of course)

Whether it's because of wet comms coming or not, it's prob not a good thing (even if you have a wet comm).
So from this thread I've heard that Comair is fat on FOs. Why would people on this thread be talking about them lowering their mins to a wet comm? Forecast attrition and upgrades or what?
Man I wish Comair had some sort of relatively decent outlook. My bro has a real nice 2 BR condo in Mt. Adams/Cinci that I could live in for free. From the sentiments I've heard on this thread though, I guess I'd be better off going to ASA and commuting to CVG???

Commuting between CVG and ATL is the worst thing you could do. Those flights are always packed and ASA has a different standby priority now then Delta and Comair guys. The upgrade at Comair is gonna come down soon. We lost almost 30 captains this month and 20 the month before. We're losing about 30 FOs a month too. Flying is slow right now but if nothing major happens upgrades should pick up in the next couple months. The bid packets have march having 3 upgrade classes.

I could be because the training dept is sooo busy with all 6 new hires a month you know the 4 new hire to one instructor ratio is bad.

CVG December Estimated Block Time:
17166.33
CVG January Estimated Block Time:
16681.95
__________
-484.38
"For January the overall block hours dropped substantially which does play a part on the outcome of our pairing solutions, however, even with the total block hours dropping we were able to maintain the same type of trip distribution and productivity as offered to you in December. We will continue to focus on improving in these two areas."

Translation: Hey... we can turn this lack of flying into an 'over-staffed' situation and give you guys more productive trips! Then we wont have to spend money on getting new people or more upgrades!

January is generally a slow month. Plus the 31st of January is part of the February bid period. So 485 hours isn't as bad as it sounds
Average hours a day in December was 553.75 hours(17166.33 / 31 ). So one less day of flying in January would mean there should be 553.75 less hours than December.
Averages hours a day for Jan is 556 (16681.95 / 30).
So in reality nothing really changed, planning is just making it sound like they did something.

Its too bad Comair is so screwed up right now. I've been watching them for several years and would like to be a part of the team...but I can't afford to sit as an FO for 3-4yrs at extremely low pay, AND not getting to fly (build time) since they seem to be overstaffed with FOs. Sitting reserve as a CA would suit me better, least then I could afford to have a place (apartment)to sit reserve in and food to put in my mouth, without having a side PT job.
So disappointing...
