Another friend of mine interviewed last week and actually wanted the job. Had higher time then most and hasn't heard anything yet. I guess they've stopped hiring for the "impending doom" of next year
Anyone hear what went on at the Captains only meeting?

That's pretty ****ed up! I guess they didn't tell him why they didn't hire him? Oh well, I think he's much better off elsewhere anyway. Send him to Republic!

It is pretty crazy how things change in this industry...CFIs sit around FBOs talking about whether they're trying for XJet, Skywest, or Republic...I haven't heard anyone (who wasn't from the CVG area) mention Comair as a place they're shooting for in a while. Hearing stories about your friend with 1200 TT makes me understand why.
So I guess the jury is still out on this one, but is Comair still hiring or not? At least your captains seem to be leaving, unlike Eagle. I guess from a certain perspective that's a plus.

Looks like a bad day in LGA today. According to the FAA's OIS website, LGA is on a ground stop for Comair flights coming from ZME/ZTL/ZDC/ZID/ZNY/ZJX. Looks like NYC is taking a pounding. EWR is also stopped for COA and BTA flights due to ramp space.

Can anyone confirm this? a loss of 4000 Block time and 8 RJ's?
Also heard the company may be offering lump sum payouts to get people to "retire" from the high seniority numbers.. Kind of like what General Motors did last year...
I am really interested in any news from that Captains meeting...

Something is definitely up. Every regional in this industry (even with age 65) is hiring except Comair. I don't know of a single place that isn't at least hiring for attrition. Doesn't seem like Comair is even hiring for attrition. Since there is lots of attrition, but not lots of hiring to match it.
