What's your bid?

I'll guess 1 furlough.

Seriously though, I heard from someone that the word around the GO is 50 more and maybe another 30 in the summer.

Oh they'll feel it when we get down to fifty 50 seaters by the end of the year! A lot of senior guys are gonna get displaced. MX is already planning on going down to 50.

From what I've been getting is when we went into Ch.11 with Delta; when they renegotiated the aircraft leases, Delta was able to get an early out clause if they needed to return aircraft before the leases were up, hence why we've been returning newer a/c with more expensive leases. Since they are considered "scheduled" lease returns, they can't be challanged by the side letter agreement on the contract.

Wow, so this is actually being planned for by Mx...is this as close as we're going to get to official?

What's our min fleet size per contract?

I agree Bubba. And the 1.5% is just what they have on the books right now. Let's see what's on the books when they redo the books in the summer as they said they will do. How many times have the staffing levels in 2008 had to be redone?

If I read the side letter agreement correctly, the 50 seat fleet size can not go below 90% of what the size was at during February 2007. The only way the fleet can go below 90% is for "scheduled" lease returns during the period of the contract. We are at the minimum level for 70 seaters which is 15 and of course we didn't have or forcast for 76 seaters when you guys signed the contract.

Super, I guess Mesaba will be a blessing since a recall with Comair isn't going to happen.

Do you really think this is for real? That's a reduction of like 30+ aircraft! Even with the rate things are going that's still hard hard to believe! Not saying it's not true but if its for real then Comair basically has no hope!

I wish it weren't. Delta doesn't want 50 seaters anymore, so they'll get rid of the ones that they have direct contol over. The reductions will keep coming I have no doubt about that. Unless things turn around soon, this is the plan. I see a merger coming. Soon rather than later. When Bendoraitais was down here in the SOCC talking with us mx guys, he said that there looks like plenty of room to expand, as well as on some of the upper floors of the GO. Hmmmm makes you think!
