Anyone else apply at Mesaba a long time ago and hasn't heard anything? Also, when I tried to send an email the XJ MEC dude for the alledged preferential hiring agreement, the email bounced back and said it doesn't exist?? Hmm....
PS: Does anyone know what's involved on converting a FAA ATP to Canadian ATP. Just wondering if it's as easy as the commercial.

Forgot who was it that wrote the other day how with each passing day he's getting more detached from Comair. I can sympathize. Get the feeling that as soon as I find something to do, I'll be completely done with Comair. Sad....
Man I wish you luck. I interviewed with Mesaba middle of last month. They didn't like me. Oh well!. I was talking to someone who just got the call yesterday. He's going to the 900 class in february. That telles me they are swamped with resumes and already booked for quite a few months.
I really feel for you guys. It's a shame the way things have turned out for Comair which was always my number one choice of regionals to fly for. Not so long ago, I was beating down the door to get there. As a native New Yorker, I was probably one in a million who would have loved being based at JFK. I had a friend of mine who was an F/O write a letter of rec on my behalf and also did an interview at a job fair in Orlando. But they wouldn't bite. I later came to find out that since I didn't get hired at what was then Comair Academy as a CFI, I was no good for the airline.
I applied to Mesaba as an afterthought...never expecting to even be called for an interview or accept employment with them if they did call. But they did call...the MORNING after the evening I applied. The rest is history. This was almost two years ago. Now, after 1.5 years with the company, Im ready to upgrade on the Saab. Im not telling you all this to throw anything in your face, as I said I truly feel for you guys and your company as a whole. And I do realize just how lucky I am and the role that timing played with that luck. My situation was just that...luck, pure dumb luck. It all just fell in to place. That said, Mesaba has been where you guys find yourselves now...actually worse, albeit before I arrived.
Hopefully there are other, positive plans for you guys. I wish you all, safe and happy holidays. I also wish you all the best in your efforts to gain employment at Mesaba. I would personally welcome you all onboard.

I've heard that too. But I know of one person who got the phone call yesterday. Who knows man. I'm just going to sit on may fat ass, drink beer, and do NOTHING until february.

Must be nice.
I know im not considered senior at Comair or anything but after 2.5 years here im back to short call reserve on our most junior airplane. Timing is totally the key. I have a friend who went to Express jet just before I got hired at comair and I just found out he is flying 747 cargo for Northwest. Good luck to all of us and we will see what happens.
