I don't believe NWA has any -10 models which sat 80 people
Hey guys found this in pilotjobs.com and it may have been discussed here, but read on:
"Pinnacle Airlines Will Begin Hiring Again
By Paul Templeton on November 20, 2008 8:16 AM | No TrackBacks
I received a call from one of ATP's RJ Program Grads who is in the interview pool with Pinnacle Airlines. He called to give me the gouge:
Pinnacle has over 60 people in their "interview pool", but they have confirmed that over 30 of the people in the pool have found employment elsewhere.
The first round of interviews will take place the first and second week of January, 2009.
There was no official forecast of the number of pilots who will be hired, but we are told that they will have a "large demand for pilots" beginning in January.
They will be using those pilots to build up their base in ATL flying the CRJ-900.
They will also begin flying for Delta out of MSP in Minneapolis and will be building up that base also.
There will be a lot of RJ systems and limitations questions in the interview.
ATP RJ Grads will be exempt from taking a Simulator Evaluation during the interview.
Expect further updates as more airlines start hiring after the first of the year, and more gouge will be available as we approach the holidays".

So the company sends out that statement that there was 51 sick calls and thats what happened Dec 1st. So tonight while on reserve, I am at the end of my window with almost no time remaining and unusable to the company since I had been on duty since the wee hours this morning, I call scheduling to see about getting released and I got " WE ARE NOT RELEASING ANYONE EARLY WE ARE EXTREMELY SHORT FO's"

No, its easier to blame the pilots.

As far as I understand they don't have a training contract. However, it wouldn't surprise if the regionals start adopting one to cover their asses with all the furloughs floating around. That is if their union allows it also. As far as giving up your seniority, don't worry about that. Pretty much every airline out there is going to make you sign the "resignation letter". However, due to your union contract/status, if/when Comair start calling back, you'll be called. I wouldn't worry.
You can't just brush off the amount of sick calls just because we had weather unless you've actually had to deal with the problem. 51 calls also doesn't take into account if that sick call had special considerations, such as a few minutes before departure, or in an outstation (there's an almost automatic cancellation right there). And just so you don't think I'm hating, the pilots are generally not too bad... flight attendants will call off because they "just don't feel like coming in". And... don't even get me started on the stories.
