Comair updates?
According to the NY State unemployment website:
Q: What if I worked in New York State, but live in another state?
A: If you currently live outside of New York State, but all of your work in the last 18 months was in New York State, you may apply for unemployment benefits by calling the Telephone Claims Center. If, in the last 18 months, you worked in both New York State and the state in which you currently live, you must first contact the state in which you live to determine whether you can establish a claim with that state.

In another admission of total defeat, the brain trust is closing the maintenance facility in Orlando. I especially love this line:
"MCO has consistently been a high-performing, and very talented and experienced, group of employees"
Yeah, so let's shut it down and put 'em on the street. Let them know what an asset they are to the company.
With the announcement of the new ground handling contracts, that puts Shrinkair two steps closer to becoming the new Skyway.

Got the eligibility information in the mail today on the early out program. It has a reference in the terms that says it will not affect filing for unemployment. Does anyone no more about this? Are they saying you can take the early-out and file for unemployment?
Also, it looks like the yield fare priority is S3B priority, but I am curious what the seniority date will be for those tickets. On your anniversary date each year you must pay $50.00 so I wonder if you just keep the seniority date that you left with?
I also wonder if you give out buddy passes now, if they stop working as of the date that you leave.

Supposedly they are doing this to rid themselves of the 50 seaters, but no one has made an annoucement about what they will be replaced with.
I don't think they will be replaced, Comair is going GSO = GROUND SERVICES ONLY.

For the question about earning unemployment and taking the voluntary package. This is from the Kentucky Unemployment Insurance website:
Q Can a person draw UI if they quit?
A Assuming the claimant has sufficient wage credits to establish a claim, he or she
may be qualified to receive benefits if they voluntarily left their employment with
good cause attributable to the employment and there are no other eligibility
issues present.
Q Can a person draw UI if they are fired?
A Assuming the claimant has sufficient wage credits to establish a claim, he or she
may be qualified to receive benefits if they were discharged for reasons other
than misconduct or dishonesty connected with the work and there are no other
eligibility issues present.
