You may actually see guys right around 5 years take this as they won't be furloughed and they don't feel like being on reserve as an FO for the next few years.

So are they saying that with 5 years of service you and your pass riders would get flying bennies for 5 years with unlimited yield fare tickets for 5 years, or unlimited yield fare for life?

Severance pay for a 5 year FO would roughly be $7,000 bucks. Not exactly enough to get me to go... 'cept I'm gettin furloughed so I'd take it and run.

I think its a year of non-revving per year of service for the early out plan. The "55 point plan early retirement" is lifetime.

One year for each year of completed service.

The people eligible for the 55 point program get unlimited S3B for life.

Why would you need unlimited yield fare tickets on Delta and Comair if you have benefits for the same duration?

Man, no one is going to take this "package". You got the large majority of the 10 percenters -top of seniority- who, if you look at their bdate, are @ the 50 y.o. age. Average seniority at that point is @ 17 years. That's 34 weeks of pay, for a 50-55 y.o. person, with quite possibly a lot of bills -still- and maybe kid(s) to help thru college. And on top of that, their "retirement" package/savings is in the dumps. Throw in a really bad economy where the prospects for a job -any job- are slim, specially by the fact they have been pigeon holed doing only one thing -flying- for the last 2 decades. Put yourself in that situation, and what would you do?. Th only ones that MAY consider taking this offer, are the ones with a second source of income. Another business, early good investments, income earning spouses, etc. This is a moot point.........time for a pool. I'll say 10 PILOTS will take this offer. Throw your number in the hat.

I don't understand your question.

To me it looks like the guys with 10-20 YOS make out the best. Unlimited pass benefits and almost 5 months pay.

Sorry, let's see if this works.

If they are going to give a pilot flying benefits for 5 years, then why would that pilot need any yield fare tickets? Are yield fare tickets just like purchasing a buddy pass for yourself? Or are they saying that you would have flying bennies for 5 years on Comair and Delta and unlimited yield fare tickets on others in the Delta System for 5 years, or yield fare tickets for life?

I think you may be mixing up the two programs.

The early out allows for employees with between 5-10 YOS to have unlimited yield fare. The length of time is based on YOS. Each year of service allows you a year of the restricted pass benefits. They are giving these guys benefits, but the yield fare restrictions apply.

The 55 point program allows for employees with greater than 10 YOS to have unlimited S3B pass privileges for life.

Yes. I am looking at someone who has 5 years of service as of Dec. 31, 2009. It looks to me that those employees would receive flying benefits for a year for each year of service that they have completed. So for a 5 year employee that would mean benefits for 5 years. Now that same program says that there is unlimited yield fare tickets for employee and passriders on Delta and Comair only. I am wondering if "Unlimited" means for life? I can't see why else you would use yield fare tickets during the 5 years of your benefits. Does that make better sense?
