That package looks awsome. I'm sure that people will take it with the 3 months insurance and pay for a whapping 2 weeks for every year. I am sure people will be fighting over who gets it. I think they need to sweeten the pot a little more concidering the state of the economy. So basically here is a POS buyout, sorry your 401K is worth nothing see ya good luck.

Here's the summary of what they offer pilots/FA's to leave early (5 years service required):
Two weeks of pay per year of service.
3 months of COBRA paid by Comair.
One year of "Yield-fare" pass travel for employee and pass riders per one year of service. No interline travel or no buddy passes.
Yeah, I can't even see 1 person taking this package.

It looks like Comair/Delta knows that the very senior guys will never leave because they have nowhere else to go. The package offered mirrors what Delta is offering mainline employees. I think this package is designed for employees that have been with the company for 5 to 12 years. Any captain we have now has more than 8 years of service with the company. Any FO who upgrades to a captain will have at least 8 to 9 years of service. I think the goal is to reduce the FO average years of service to 3 to 4 years, and the Captain years of service to between 4 and 8 years. If you look at the big picture, it’s not just the very senior guys that are expensive, it’s the fact that we have 8 year FO’s and the most junior captain has been with the company for at least 8 years. I’m not a math wiz, but I think that is what they are looking for. Any of you math wiz guys can take the time to do the math will make it much clearer.

Taken right from the "Early Out Program" on Epic.
I did miss the 55 Point Program, which pays (excuse my math, I was never good at it) less? weeks per years of service than the Early out Program and you get retiree travel benefits? Seems to me its a raw deal either way.

Ah, I just saw 2 weeks per year of service... if I worked 10 years (again, pardon my simple math) that is 20 weeks pay, same as a 20 year guy would get on the 55 point plan.
I'd think Comair would be lucky to get 1 guy to take it, and they know it.
