I'm sorry to break up the flow of convoy here, but I got another pertinent question. On Jan 19th I'm getting furloughed along with a bunch of other guys so my last day on the company payroll is on Jan 18th. Since now the chief pilot office is closed on weekends, I don't want to go in and return my badge, books, and whatnot on Jan 19th (which is a day i'm not getting paid for so subsequently my own time.) What would happen if I went in on this Friday and returned my badge and stuff on that day? Is any one else planning on doing that? What do you guys/gals think?

I don't see why not. I was in JFK yesterday and saw two FO's turn in their stuff and it was only January 13th. If you don't have any work scheduled for after you turn your stuff in I don't see a problem with it.
I'm planning on turning mine in Friday as well when I return to JFK.

That question has been brought up in CVG too about the 18th. I guess they'll have to pay someone to come in. I'm keeping my ID (need it to j/s home) until the 18th and then it's going out via FedEx. I don't care what they say.
I was booted out Nov 5th, I don't remember receiving any specific instructions about returning IDs/manuals/etc. I wasn't going out of my way while sitting around on reserve to get that stuff back to them anyway. In fact they're all still sitting on my floor; I'm eagerly awaiting Captain Comair to come kick down my door and retrieve them.

You can turn your stuff whenever. Just make sure you get something saying you turned everything in. They will ask you if you need your ID to get home. Atleast they did in november.
The reason I mentioned that is it would be obviously confusing that I am getting furloughed, but considering taking the early out, which would not normally be available to the furloughees.
And thanks for completely dumbing down the ramp tower's job description. You obviously have a full working knowledge of what those guys do on a daily basis. Or is it there is more than just ramp control? Maybe team coordinator? Snow Desk? Connections coordinator? Exceptions? November Queue? Maybe you should go up and meet some of those you are accusing sometime and actually learn what goes on behind the scenes. You would never believe the things they do for us crews that you will never know about.

file with the state the you live in....in massachusetts, as long as you have worked atleast 1 day in the state and currently reside in the state, you are eligible to collect no matter where your current employer is located...example: I live in mass, have worked at a mass employer before coming to Comair, worked for Comair in NY and am eligible to collect in mass
I believe it's the same.
So are these yield fare tickets based on your current seniority I wonder? Do they stay at that seniorty, or are they below an active pilot with one year of seniority buddy passes?
So would this be 10 weeks pay + pay for your vacation? Technically you've been awarded your vacation so that should be included.
You wouldn't think many people would take this, but I have been talking with numerous FOs that are considering going back to school full-time. For them this might actually help. I would say that everything but the flying benefits portion of this is decent. What more could you expect from a nickel-and-dime store?

Yield fare tickets are different - you have to pay for them based on some formula (cents per mile, or something like that). That is what is available in the early out, like a buddy pass.
In the 55 point plan, you get the same travel benefits that you have now (although different priority), just like a retiree.
The best pass benefits are S3B - which is always lower than an active employee but higher than a pass rider using S3C.
Pay the vacation? Before you have accrued it? That would be like accepting a position as a salesman that gets four weeks vacation, quitting the next day, and expecting them to pay you for four weeks and a day. I don't see it happening.
