Comair updates?
Seems like too many of you are posting without really reading through what's offered.
Two very different programs here. All things considered, I think this is a very solid offer from a regional airline that doesn't have to do ANYTHING if they don't want to.
To a captain holding a crappy line that has a fairly lucrative side job and a wife with a stable job, this is most definitely something attractive. Different people are in different situations. A ton of us on here are FOs with 5 YOS or less, of course it doesn't make sense to us.
We'll just have to wait and see where it goes. Regardless guys, just remember, any little bit helps. As a very wise sensei of mine said "it loosens the belt".

Yes. I am looking at someone who has 5 years of service as of Dec. 31, 2009. It looks to me that those employees would receive flying benefits for a year for each year of service that they have completed. So for a 5 year employee that would mean benefits for 5 years. Now that same program says that there is unlimited yield fare tickets for employee and passriders on Delta and Comair only. I am wondering if "Unlimited" means for life? I can't see why else you would use yield fare tickets during the 5 years of your benefits. Does that make better sense?
I don't think that is the intent of the bullet points. I could be clearer if they added the word "for" between the two lines.

I thought about that, but looking back at the memo, the bullet point with the regular privileges has a time frame so you would think that the yield fare would as well if it was time limited.
Make sense?

Ok, maybe you can help me understand. Why would you need a yield fare ticket if you have your regular flying benefits for the five years anyway? Maybe for your other passriders?

Maybe I'm as lost as you are, but I think you are mixing up the two different buy out plans.
The "Early Out" plan is the one that gives people with at least 5 years of service at Comair a year of unlimited yield fare travel for each year of service.
Example: 5 years at Comair, 5 years of unlimited yield fare travel.
The "55 Point Early Retirement Plan" is plan number 2 for people with either 10 years of service and age + years of service = 55. Or 25 years of service. They would receive unlimited travel at S3B and yield fare for non-dependents or other passriders.
Hope that helps.
