I believe they removed the need to check for it prior to an RNAV departure.

yeah you just have to do a passive check for the rnav departures now. so basically just check and make sure none of the satelites are deactivated.

Time to drink some scotch now, warm the belly and forget the old 14 hour duty days, reduced rest layovers following the early RR.

How long did it take to get past this and on to better days?

ftrpilot, Did you get you're "voluntary redution" severance package forms? I saw the managers had a bunch of the crew schedulers in the conference room explaining the package on Friday evening. We're loosing two positions. They handed them out Thursday and told us we had till today to fill them out if we chose to do so. Did they give you today as the deadline as well? This weeks is supossed to be kickoff to Comair showing people the door. Strap in, the ride's about to begin!!!!!

So I guess we aren't understaffed enough? How long of a wait on hold when calling scheduling do we need to have before we are staffed at the proper levels? 15 minutes, 30 minutes?

I know for us in mx we're loosing a total of 14 positions that are management and administrative. I'm not sure how many mechanics they're going to let go because there are some MRO contracts in the works.

I obviously don't know, but I'd be surprised if they would let any mechanics go. Don always talked about how much money ground handling and doing MX for other airlines we were making.
