its a job that they choose to do. I hate a lot of things about my job but it does me no good to complain about something i have no control over. If i had my way there wouldn't be a 3am rr. In other words we all have done things we dont want to do cause we were Jr to someone its a part of life.

I love working here but the fighting between everyone has got to stop

I've tried to bridge the gap.
Well in that case I agree about the complaining. I am just as guilty as anyone unfortunately. But most of this is just blowing off some steam. I for one think you have done a great job with the gap.

yea i know I just have to hear it everyday and its me blowing off steam too.

My wish is to someday stop fighting and work together. I know i enforce the contract everyday but, its hard to do sometimes cause well if i don't do it. someone will complain to ALPA and ill have to hear it from them an so on. 90% of the pilot group is awesome but that 10%, make life miserable for everyone. But you know thats any work group. I really think who ever the new MEC is going to be needs to take a few pages from the flight attendant contract and it will make life little easier.

Just curious, but what window are you bidding? I always bid the a3 with bid to fly and I only get the 6, 7, 8, 8:30, or Noon ready's. Next month all of my ready's are 6am (all 6 of em).

FTR, I don't think anyone on here is complaining towards you personally. I know that I complain ALOT but it is nothing personal towards anyone in scheduling. (Mainly just the ones in bid production.) I have gotten used to talking to many of the morning shift schedulers while sitting ready. Of course now most of the ones I liked to talk with don't seem to be doing that shift anymore. Anyway, I'll probably talk with you soon.

Ftrpilot,

Keep your head up and keep doing your job the right way. Even if this place was the top regional airline in the country, people would still find something to complain about, so screw 'em!
I personally have no problem sitting ready reserve at 3am. Nobody made me work for Comair, so as long as the assignment is legal, both by the FARs and the "contract," I have no problem accepting it. I'm all for getting paid to sleep!
People who have been at Comair less than a year (myself included) have no room to complain. Talk to the FOs that have been here longer than we've been in aviation and still haven't upgraded or the 20-year Captains that have been to hell and back with this place and you'll realize that sitting reserve for a year is not the worst thing that could happen to you.
My gut tells me things will probably get better at Comair, but regardless, a lot of it is what you make of it. You'd be amazed at how much more relaxing work can be if you avoid talking/"complaining" about all that is wrong with Comair and focus more on the positive things in life (in my case): Sports, beautiful women (especially the ones in 2A and 2B), and the libation I'm going to enjoy when I reach the hotel on a long layover. I digress, though............

Then it is agreed - the 3am ready sucks. I think that's a pretty natural observation and I think anyone who actually loves to get up that early to sit on call at the airport has serious issues. We aren't fighting, that's an understanding. It is immature and unprofessional to take out your problems on co-workers, and schedulers are definitely our co-workers.

I had L1 with 'bid to fly" and got five 3 a.m. RRs. Did all of them. Got called out every time. Next month I'm going back to short call, so my earliest RR is like 8 a.m.

Yeah I love how he says that they worked with Delta to make the reductions gradual. If they can work that out with Delta then why can't they work out better schedules??

I thought it was pretty optimistic for the long term. It is however from Soaper, so wishful thinking. Its probably just some Koolaid cause attrition is higher than what they really need probably.

Take what Soaper says with a grain of salt with the large caraf of Koolaide he shelves out. Nothing will be stable here until a decision is made on what direction Comair is going. That will not happen until Delta decides to sell OR a merger happens. Until then, lots of uncertainty, rumors an Koolaide.
