Yeah they do need to change the name to bid to sit. You spend more time sitting in the crew room then you do flying. It is fun to see what kinda of random things you can do to waste the time. But always remember as soon as you get excited to go home or really wanna watch a movie you will get called.

Yea, the last couple months I bid to fly and I flew a total of maybe 14 hours each month, 6 readys each month. This month I did L2 and not bid to fly and I have 2 four-day trips, one 2day trip and like 3 readys. I haven't had a 4 day trip since august.

Oh, and did anyone happen to see the new JFK Capt bid packet for March?
There's a 700increase in block hours for JFK. I thought they were going to be reducing flying in JFK starting in march.
Also, did they stop listing pilots who quit on the pilot roster on the bid packet. I haven't see one "quit" next to a pilot's name on any one of the bid packets for march yet.

I used to see a group of people happily count the quits in the bid packet in ops every once in awhile. In some sick way it raised morale slightly to see everyone moving on (and raising one's seniority).
If its true they stopped placing quit, I guess they thought they'd squash morale that way.

I think we should have a ready reserve for schedulers! You all can come in and sit for 6 hours and only get paid for 4. What a bargin! How do you think the people at scheduling would like that????
