Comair updates?

I think that might be C55 stuff not 3585. Unfortunately, my Ops book is in my flight kit in the lounge... but I think C55 talks about suitable runways for alts. Lemme know if you find it

Or perhaps the pink pages?

Chow,
The last page of section 7 state the weather requirements when you need an alternate in Canada. If you go page 8-7 in the ops manual it states that 3585 applies to all domestic operations and to cities listed in ops specs paragraph A012. That paragraph list all the cities served outside the US.

Moral of the story is:
If you're lower seniority than me: I highly recommend coming up to the 700/900. Great airplanes, good routes, stable reserve
If you're higher seniority than me: Terrible airplane, long flights, horribly long reserve, old crusty captains.......
You get my drift

haha, yeah, I get your drift, and no, I didn't call it shiny jet syndrome. I think I might do it, but I am enjoying getting weekends off right now and making my schedule.

Yeah, I'm 70/90 now. I'm not sure about reserve. To be honest, I haven't even calculated it. Don't let my employee # fool you. I've been with the company 4 1/2 years, but I only started flying in March. So I figure I'll be on reserve for quite a while. But I'm a lifelong Cincy local, so it really doesn't bother me. Reserve is a little more stable on it though (no scheduled RRs, stable trips, etc). I am completely in love with the 900 though. It is an absulute joy to fly. I think you may have called it shiny jet syndrome, but there's more to it than just that.

quality of life is so much better on the 70. People at my seniority aren't close to holding a line on the 50 as an FO. I'm right at the spot where one month i have a line and one month I dont. But even if I don't, I might have one RR. Totally worth it.
