Comair updates?
I voted for the "freeze" LOA. I personally viewed it as "poor man's scope" at the time. It was fairly obvious that DL was headed for Chapter 11 at that time and my thought process was that if we went in with a signed agreement that said OH was to maintain a certain number of aircraft, then there would be at least some semblance of job protection. You didn't have too be a beancounter to determine how badly we were being underbid by our peers at every other DCI carrier and if a two year freeze gave everyone else time to catch up to our contract while maintaining a minimum fleet, then I viewed it as a positive overall. Obviously, with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight I know that it was wrong. I certanly didn't count on DL raping us as badly as they did in BK and in the years since.
Anyway, just a little insight into my one "yes" vote. Thanks for the walk down memory lane... ;-)

Let me get this straight...
Comair raises the bar for regional pay and benefits in 2001 and Delta punishes us = Karma
Comair votes for a pay freeze in 2005 and Delta punishes us = Karma
What would you do if you were at Comair? What would you do to outwit the beancounters at Delta, who are apparently the ones in charge of handing out Karma?

This is the problem with you young pups...

You can't have an intelligent, adult conversation about this industry without thinking it is an "argument". And you think you can say something of little relevance, and then post some witty HTML or poster and think you are making the point of all points. Welcome to the adult world... And if you are going to think you're in an "argument" and have your feathers ruffled every time someone doesn't share your viewpoint, it is going to be a long road for you.
A couple of people on here manned up and admitted their "yes" vote was a mistake. Others still want to defend their yes votes as if it did no harm to anyone... Great. I disagree.

2. I'm 43...not a "young pup." Don't make assumptions. It comes off as an ad hominem attack, a common pitfall used in debate and logic. I just happen to disagree with your assessment of our pilot group's karma.
3. I thought the Jack Nicholson .gif was funny.

Saying that Comair pilots are young pups is about the same as calling the pilots at American young pups. When you have 20 year upgrades and the most junior people on property being there for at least 5 years, I don't think there are any young pups left.

Gents, it was written in jest... Thus the
after the comment. So take a chill pill. And 45 year olds can act just as childish in a conversation as a 13 year old. That is not written in jest.

Give it up, sonny. You won't convince any Comair guys (current or former) of anything they don't already know.
