Scrap yard man, I've dropped a few off personally and seen the wings literally cut off for scrap metal

Lesson 2: don't throw a pilot group, or groups, under a bus and then expect unity from them when your chips are down.

I digress, as my original point was, and still is, that it is ironic to hear Comair pilots on here complaining about other regionals taking 'their' airplanes. But hey, good luck to you all. I mean that.
The E-170s were unawarded at the time. But you're right, it was a mistake to vote for the TA. DAL had no intention of ever giving us those jets, and it taught me a valuable lesson. That was the first and only TA I ever voted in favor of. But again, those airplanes represented unassigned flying - it was only after the fact that DAL chose to take a handful of airplanes slated for ASA when they sent the E-170s elsewhere. Comair has lost dozens and dozens of aircraft in the same manner, but I've never held it against the crews that took them. The focus has and should always be on DAL management. They pull all the strings.

As for taking concessions, no, it didn't work. Neither did maintaining the status quo. We've lost a lot more airplanes by holding the line than we ever did by taking a pay freeze. Doesn't matter what you do - DAL will give the airplanes to the cheapest lift provider they can, so long as no one regional has too much leverage.

Just out of curiosity - let's say we'd voted down the TA and ASA signed a contract worth Comair + 5%. How many airplanes do you think they'd have right about now?

I'm glad you can admit a mistake and show the valuable lesson gained from it. It speaks of your character.

As for your second question, I have no earthly idea. I guess we'll never know.

Of course, Delta had other plans for us involving deception, lying, sodomy and inspiration from this movie.......

And from some of the few that are still there I'm told they are working the hell out of everyone left there aside from the State of KY trying to screw them out of UI.

Funny, I always wondered why on the application Delta asked us if we were open to "alternative" copulation practices involving coereced rear entry........

Other than that Comair was a great company to work for. I was treated extremely well. I hate what Delta is doing to them because those guys stood up to corporate slavery. Can't blame anyone who has 50+ lives in there hands and makes less than a worker at Mickey D's asking for dignity by bieng paid more.

Let me get this straight...

Comair raises the bar for regional pay and benefits in 2001 and Delta punishes us = Karma

Comair votes for a pay freeze in 2005 and Delta punishes us = Karma

What would you do if you were at Comair? What would you do to outwit the beancounters at Delta, who are apparently the ones in charge of handing out Karma?

No, never said that. Please copy and paste a post where I referenced this.

Precisely.

So now it is the Delta bean counters' fault that Comair pilots voted in favor of the TA which resulted in airframes being moved from one airline who was in contract negotiations (and had fully supported Comair pilots in their negotiations) to Comair in order to satisfy said TA?

You serious Clark?

Unfortunately for Comair, the pilots were sold a very short-sighted bag of tricks by the MEC (read: JC) at the time. The ASA MEC (read: Bob Arnold, a personal friend) would have never fallen for such a thing, which was advised to the Comair MEC by BA himself. The Comair pilots thought for sure they were getting "real" airliners with that TA (emb170), and all they got were used ASA 50 seat rj's. The pilots bit, and then they were bitten.... That is karma. Again, we were only discussing the posts referring to Comair tails at other airlines.

Are you quite finished? Can we move on from this issue to more pressing ones like..............................

I guess we're finished. I can't figure out what you mean by Karma since I still don't understand why Delta hoodwinking us and putting three ASA aircraft on our certificate means we deserve the mess we're in now.

I was there for that vote, and I can assure you that you are quite mistaken. For one, when you begin a statement with "The Comair pilots thought for sure..." you reveal yourself to be nothing more than a presumptuous ass.

Don't forget when Fast Freddy had a show and tell with those E's. Went something like "If you guys vote for this well lookie here at what you'll get".

If it wasn't for the Comair pilots who raised the bar, where would the regionals be? They stood up against Corporate Slavery, Delta/Dildo can suck it!!!
