Anyone have any idea when this bid is coming out? Its gotta be by the end of the week if they plan on staffing it by may. Otherwise they will be DHing a ton of people back and worth until everyone is displaced.

Anyone called RP and asked him? He is usually very staight forward and tells you what he knows.

I'd pay for my type rating for that

This was posted on the ALPA Board.

"I was at the meeting in JFK. The 700/900 will stay in CVG. The shift to the northeast is in the CRJ. A vacancy bid will be issued then a displacement bid. A total of 200 pilots may be affected."

Now we have an idea what's going on.

What meeting? I doubt the 70/90 will stay in CVG for long. Once the schedule at Cincy is reduced sufficiently to the point where a 70/90 connection makes no sense (as opposed to DTW or MEM) you'll see them moved up northeast. Management could care less (rightfully so) that the senior pilots would be unhappy if they moved the base.

This might be a logisital issue of fitting the 700/900's into parking spaces at JFK that now hold the 50. Perhaps that is why the 700/900 is staying in CVG?

They still have to fly into JFK, regardless of where they are based. And when has Delta used logic?

700 can fit inside and outside that circle, no problem. 900 has to go on the outside though.

exactly right...the 700 and 900 have both been operating out of 23/25 for some time...700's on the inside or outside of the horseshoe...when freedumb was still flying the 900 into JFK they were routinely parking on the outside of the horseshoe (Comair was as well) on the terminal 1 side...i would figure the same could be done on side closest to terminal 3...and there is always pad 11, or gate 19A or whatever they are calling it now

overworked: Nothing on MSP as of yet, but that doesn't mean it won't go down that way. I'm really hoping that's not in the plan... I mean, I hate the winters in Cincinnati, and don't even want to think about things in the great white north. There really haven't been talks on cutting anyone in our department(again, not that I've heard) beyond the buyouts, but nothing will surprise me anymore with how things are going. I get the feeling that if (when) something happens, it will be very abrupt. Then again, maybe everything will be all sunshine and rainbows (end sarcasm).

Captainv: The utilization sucks, flat out. I can't remember how many days (at any point in the day starting my shift) that we needed a reserve to cover something, but I had "no one" to call out. Mind you, there were no less than ten long call window reserves that were on my sheet, but they were useless to me to cover anything. That's when I have to start dailing the phone to tag the inbound reserve, who thought he was on the last day of his four (or five, or six) day trip, and now has to go back out again. That "higher percentage" of reserves is a VERY inflated number.
