Comair updates?
After reading the memo from planning it sounds to me like after the January furloughs the company will be properly staffed. Does the 1060 number thrown out take into account military and medical leaves or colas? I'm just trying to make an educated guess considering if we go down to 1060 i'll be out too.

That memo says that the base in CVG will be 260 crews. I don't read that as 260 crews in the 50 + 155 in the 70/90. I read that as 155 crews in the 70/90 will be included in the 260 crews for CVG. It says 260 crews in BASE.
Please someone correct me.

Eh i don't think so...if that were the case then Comair would only be doing 4000 monthly hours of 50 flying out of CVG..even THAT seems too low.
12000 - RJ200 hours
8000 - RJ70/90 hours
20000 in base hours seems more apropos. Standard Comair incoherence, thanks M.P.
of course if you're correct
115 in JFK + 260 CVG is 375 crews
<800 pilots

Like I said, I hope I am wrong, but it definitely matches the trend of the 50s disappearing from the property.
While I think you're probably right, could there maybe be some half-full DC-9s flying around on some low-yielding routes??

I don't know the real numbers. How many pax does a DC9 hold. Being that the DC9s are all paid off, I would imagine that it carries more than 50 pax half full and therefor is more fuel efficient. Not paying rent on them.
