Pressing issues on this company is a repeating cliche term that has been used during the past four years. The pilot group, mechanics, GO, nor the union can control what has happened or is happening. Obviously CEO's cannot change the course rather they control the course that Delta has already laid out for Comair to follow.
Every CEO has had a project to implement from restructuring, BK , LOA's , and the most recent downsizing. All has resulted in their success, now Comair is now down to a shell of what it was and I feel Mr. "Whats his name" is the final hammer. I believe there are two scenarios that can play out, and Delta has made it clear to "whats his name" what they want. My guess is shut the door turn off the lights, or a merge with either of the NWA regional. In any case, the strategy was laid out with FB, and has been implemented in steps with each new CEO, this being the final one.
No matter what the union does, or how hard we as pilot group or company protest, the fate is already known to Delta and it is a matter of 6 to 9 months before we find out. Personally, I hope I am wrong, but based on historical data and graph, we will be done by end of 09, REGARDLESS of what happens at MESA. Fact of the matter and reality is there are way too many regionals out there and we are expendable. Comair has been processed, put on the fryer waiting to be cooked.

Thanks. I feel better now.

Tips appreciated...lol! My comments are just based on my personal views in lite of what has transpired here over the last few years. I would love nothing more than to see Comair grow and prosper to what they once were known for. I, like everyone else have taken a hit including a pending downgrade. I am hoping I am wrong, unfortunately I am not convinced right now and frankly a little bitter on the treatment of everyone here. Am I hoping for good things, absolutely, only time will tell..

So the challenge will be to tap into this group and see if we can't solve some very pressing issues before us. NG#5 has already stated he needs to make us more competitive......cut the pilot's cost. Well the only way that gets done here is if the senior guys take a buy out.

I also worry that since this gentleman supposedly had a relationship with Mr. Anderson, this may be Comair's last chance. If NG#5 comes back and says its hopeless, they may turn the lights off.
I have to nitpick a little here, but I do it with love. By my count ben dover is our fifth CEO in 5 years, but only the fourth newguy.

Randy was here from 99-05 so he wasn't really a newguy when he "left".

FredEx was 05-06, our first newguy but we didn't know it at the time. In fact, the term FredEx wasn't even coined until after he was taken from us suddenly and at such a tender young age. Mostly he went by the name Buttrayel during his time here.

UncaDon was 06-07, our second newguy but for some reason never earned the newguy title. We figured FredEx's 1-year term was just a fluke, not a trend. Don was, however, the first CEO who I didn't bother to learn the last name of.

newguy, aka "the vage", 07-08, was actually the third newguy. As Salvaggio is too hard to learn for such a short time, he became the first to wear the title, thus he was simply newguy instead of newguy3. After UncaDon and FredEx, we knew his re-retirement clock was counting down before he sent the first aircraft back to the bank.

The newest newguy is our fourth, but only the second to wear the title. Technically, newguy2 would be innaccurate, and newerguy would be confused with sewerguy, and we want to play nice with our new Delta-phone-answering-figurehead-puppetboy. Thus the misleading skip from newguy to newguy4.

Anyway, I know the Comair guys don't need the history lesson but I want to head off any possible confusion since we don't bother to learn their names anymore.

By the way, newguy is just a polite reference to FNG (google it), a military term for the cherry in the outfit. The combat vets didn't bother to learn their names because odds were they'd be gone soon. Similar to Comair, if the FNG was placed in charge, the whole unit had a good chance of being wiped out... not just the newguy.

Doesn't the "F" come first? I googled nfg and came up with National Fuel Gas Company, traded on the NYSE.

Just saw a bumber sticker on a car:

"Honk if you've ever been the CEO of Comair!"

I stand corrected, it is FNG. Either I'm more used to NFP these days, or my syldexia kicked in.
