I always thought that was funny becuase they are represented by the NWA MEC, but are not on the NWA or the new Delta seniority list. Is there a provision in the new joint contract that covers Compass as far as representation by the new Delta MEC after SOC? Besides the way things have been going here, I really wouldn't put merit in what the Comair MEC says. I mean they knew a merger is coming and have know since they started charging that $20 merger fee! They just can't tell you due to confidentiallity agreements.

Thanks! We appreciate it, or at least I do anyway.

A merger may or may not happen, and I would be very very amazed if it does, but I have since learned that very little in aviation makes sense. Just because our union says we are not compatible, which I don't doubt, does not mean they won't try a merger, or at the very least merger talks.

Ever since one of our guys told me Comair wasn't going to furlough, that it was just a scare tactic from management, I stopped trusting our union. I also never fully trusted our management either but I lost all hope for whatever CEO we have and Soaper after the May 1st debacle.

No problem. Heck I even get some info from the guys still here! We all get little bits of info or rumors and they sort of come together and come to fruition most of the time. I'll do it as long as I have a job here.

This whole merger thing has been surrounded in mystery and lies since RA took over Delta. From day one, he said "there will be no mergers" and "no, I'm not here to facilitate a merger with NWA". So when RA says there will be no mergers with any of the wholly owned regionals, I have to laugh! They're keeping anything related to the merger close to the vest. The only reason the Delta MEC has somewhat of a clue is because they have a seat on the governing board.

OK. So once again I'm not saying its true (obviously) but today for the third time I heard that someone in the know is telling our crew members that concourse C will only be closed temporarily until a NEW customer moves in. Who this could be I have no idea but this is the third time I've heard it and I am starting to wonder (of course this could be one of those rumors that was started by one person and has spread like crazy!) Has anyone else heard this?

With Delta still paying the rent, whomever were to utilize the C term would have to pay Delta to utilize the space. I've asked around from our CS to Delta ops, no one has said anything about anyone moving into the C term.

I haven't heard it yet, but it completely makes sense. Delta doesn't want to pay for something that isn't being used so they might rent the space. They have publicly been searching for an active player to fill that void. I wouldn't really say that is rumor. It's been on the news.... I did notice last week that they took down the electronic boards at the gates and put the old mechanical boards back up. Just like how you have to put the original engines back on the aircraft before you give it back, they have to make concourse C look just like it did when they got it, aside from a few cosmetic changes like the hallway floors.

As far as a merger goes, I'm not sure our MEC has the slightest clue with what's going on. They are just now actually hiring lawyers for that. If they had a clue those lawyers would have been hired months ago and we would already have a strategic plan for such a possibility. Our MEC really is like a bunch of pre-teen kids dressing up in camo and playing army or man hunt. It's too bad that they are actually doing this with our paychecks. I would be curious to hear if the Compass or Mesaba guys have a "merger relief fund," or if they have recently hired new attourneys for such a situation.

I guess I should be thankful that I have a line, or a job for that matter, but my schedule for Jan sucks A$$. No weekends off. Not one 4 day over 16 hours. Scheduled 16 minute turns. In one 4 day trip I have numerous reports before 5:30(i bid for late reports,) 3 deadheads, and at least a 4 hour sit day one and day 3, and reduced rest. Again, Praise our MEC for letting this stuff happen. It's hard to believe that I pay ALPA to work on this schedule and I get this.

I'm so done with trying to save this company anything. Look where it has gotten us. From now on, we will get there when we get there. If I am fatigued, they will know it because I will call in fatigued. Even at an outstation on the last day last leg. I am not going to track down a rampie to hook up air if I need it, I will simply run the APU. It's not my job to track people down to do there job. If they want to give me reduced rest in ATL when the van runs on a schedule, I will either show up late, or take a cab at the time I deem appropriate and I will submit reimbursement to the CP office. If they do not cooperate, I will be sure to go to the press, state reps and the public. I personally think we should put out a general announcement to the public that they should purchase tickets with care since their flight crews are being being treated like animals and anxiety levels are at an all time high. I think I should actually see a doctor because I'm not exactly sure why I allow an employer to treat me like this.
