Comair updates?
hahahaha would love to see there faces
No, but I'm impressed every VARS message starts with "We currently have 206 of our brothers and sisters on furlough. Our thoughts are with you as we fly lots of Open Time." That's good enough for me. I guess they can just change the number to 298 when the other 92 hit the street.
MX is already planning on going down to 50.
From what I've been getting is when we went into Ch.11 with Delta; when they renegotiated the aircraft leases, Delta was able to get an early out clause if they needed to return aircraft before the leases were up, hence why we've been returning newer a/c with more expensive leases. Since they are considered "scheduled" lease returns, they can't be challanged by the side letter agreement on the contract.

It would serve us right if Delta has the option to return the whole fleet in the next year and the union forgot to ask about that little detail, wouldn't it?
After all, it took them a year to publish the "new contract" for us because they were working on all the details... if Delta can just take the fleet away I think they missed a really big detail.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong. If there's a merger in which the Comair name/company is maintained, don't they have to recall the guys that were furlough if the "new" company ends up with people junior to them?. And what if they other company is the one standing?, wouldn't it be the same case?.
Here's something that's floated around for a while. There might be a "merger" with Mesaba, in which that'll be the name retained. And with Mesaba just because their operating costs are lower than Comair's. Now, with it does happen, would that nulify the Comair contract?. If so, then it makes sense. If it doesn't, then what's the point?.
Personally with either scenario, I don't forsee a recall for those of us furlough for quite sometime. Time to move on.

we actually sat around the othe night, since it was dead and talked about all the scenarios that could play out. Our best conclusion was that we are headed for a merger with Compass. I mean as long as we've been a Delta subsidiary, no president has come from being president of another wholly owned regional. They've either come from DCI or from within. Compass is pretty much just a shell of an airline with little or no office support and a small management team. Very little mx and no customer service. Like I said before, when Ng4 was here talking with us in the SOCC he commented that there was a lot of space to expand and commented that there were several floors of the GO that were pretty much empty. The 175's would fit perfectly in our route system out of JFK and BOS. Ng4 would remain the president of the merger company since he has operating experience and knowledge of both companies.
That's a good one.

That's a good one. They have about 330 pilots and they have almost the same payscale as us. Might be a good fit?
The problem with a merger with Compass is that they are represented by the Northwest MEC. Our MEC Chair said that since they are a whole different animal that they would be the company with which we are least likely to merge.
