if you do not bid for a CD line you will NOT be awarded one. If no one bids for the CD lines they are awarded in inverse seniority.

So in JFK those 3 CD lines were not bid on by anyone on the list so according to those bidding they are the least desirable of all lines(including reserve lines). Therefore awarded in inverse seniority.

#28204 the only reason I can see him having a line is because he has carry in hours from the previous month. Add in those carry-in hours and 2 DA(day available) and he can just make the minimum line value for the month.

So next month call up crew scheduling and beg them for trips that carry into the feb. and it gives you a better chance of being awarded a line in feb. Good Luck hope it helps.

Shoooooooooooot Me Now. By the way, these people who got all the CD lines, the bottom 3 FO's are NOT QUALIFIED YET, aka they couldnt even BID and they got these CD's..........?!?!

When you were NQ didnt it say NH----------> the following month? Then when u got signed off u got to pick a few days off and u sat RESERVE. Right?

Hmm I thought it pretty much spit out lines to whoever can hold one seniority-wise...I'm pretty close to the bottom and still have RS next month, as expected. Maybe call the bidding people to find out?

well then that may be an issue. This situation seems to happen about every 6 months or so. Seems most people forget or just plan didn't know that you won't be awarded CD's unless you bid for them.

Anyways... Word from the rumor mill is that the guys in the JAN. upgrade class got calls today that the class has been cancelled. These were upgrades awarded on the vacancy bid prior to the most recently cancelled bid. More bad news. Merry Christmas!

Ugh. Is there a way to slash bid "here's the days off I want cuz I know you'll put me on reserve and probably not give me half of them anyway BUT if you want to give me a line, ignore all that and I'll take a line instead"?????

Someone correct me if Im wrong but I think you bid for a CD line using the double slash //

Here the deal though anything after the double slash is read by a human first before the lines are awarded. So if you bid for a CD line and can hold it, you are awarded the CD line before you will be awarded a normal line.

So here are some examples

Pilot seniority 1 who can hold a normal line or CD line Bids
D1-3 DSA DSU p4dt Nop5dt//CD 01 02
This pilot would be awarded the CD line 01

Pilot Seniority 500 who sometimes holds a normal line but this month doesn't quite make it bids
D1-3 DSA DSU P4dt NoP5dt
This month this pilot is awarded a reserve line because he failed to bid for CD 02

Pilot seniority 1500 who holds a reserve line but bids CDs just in case
D1-3 DSA DSU p4dt nop5dt//CD 01 02
This pilot would be awarded CD line 02

I understand, i just want to know how someone not qualified is getting CD lines when we were all NQ we got NH-------------> on our lines, and then sat reserve......if ANYTHING the most junior QUALIFIED people should get them, right?
