Don't worry, you'll have a very long vacation coming up!

Luckily, year two pay next year will be more than year two pay is now. So from that standpoint, you win and Comair loses.

But seriously-
When Comair imposed a pay-freeze in June 2005, the guys still on probation did not get the freeze. They are on year five pay now, while guys senior to them are stuck back on year four pay. So who knows how this crap will play out?
No, i would miss out on it because say I get called back in March. So a 6 month furlough. Minus furlough, i would already be six months closer to THIRD year pay. Now i'm just starting 2nd.

You slipped through the cracks then, my friend. If you look at the table in Section 13, it says you do not accrue longevity while on furlough.

Then they let everyone slip through who was furloughed in 2006. Look at the seniority list and everyone who was hired in the summer of 2005 has the same hire date and longevity date.

Maybe this was based on language from the old contract which was still in effect at the time.

That may be. I am not sure what the exact contractual language was during that time.

I know where you're coming from. I'd love to take a three-year furlough (I'm year 4 pay now) and come back to year 8 pay. It bites, but it doesn't work that way.

I can feel your pain - I was lucky enough to spend 26 months on year two pay.

Keep in mind, if any of us is furloughed for a year, technically we'll be missing out on the last year pay of our whole career, be that year 30 pay or whatever. So you're not out thousands, you're out hundreds of thousands.

You can figure out the details.
This is actually a true story. It happened about 2 weeks ago. The wrong UM was put on our flight and the kid never spoke up during any of the flight attendant's announcements.

It's a UM, in my mind it's not his responsibility to make sure he's on the right flight. It's the dumb rectum that brought that kid to the airplane (or however far he/she was brought). Tha UM escort should be fired, and stoned publicly.

I just looked at Section 13 again. You will accrue longevity while on COLA, but not while on furlough.
