I would guess its about the same as what they are doing now with the furloughs....

First they would have to put out a vacancy bid, then if they didn't get the required amount of pilots they would have to displace people. I'm not sure on the time frame from displacement to action. My guess is about a month.

Comair had probably already paid to go there, or committed to being there. So the money was already spent, might as well go. I wouldn't read too deep into that.

So anyone know the story on this Don guy that is getting promoted from Comair to Delta Connection? (Check Epic) This makes two high level execs at Delta Connection from Comair...at least that I know of...

Could this be a positive thing for Comair?

One could only hope. I think the main reason we have 2 execs there is Delta sees how well they perform as puppets at Comair and recognize that those same skills and attributes could be of value at DCI.........

ZJX: "COM69 for direction of flight, I need to change your altitude. Would you like to go up or down a thousand feet?"

COM69: "Affirmative, sounds good"

ALPA Contract 23.Q:

Company has to give pilots and association 60 days notice.

No, that has nothing to do with it. It's so he can be paid at 70 seat captain pay at 100 hours per month with override as opposed to 50 seat captain pay at 100 hours per month. Which would you choose if you were a paper pusher all day? It does, however, provide great fodder for conspiracy theorists and crew lounge gossip.

Deke is constantly talking about the what if's of Chicago and United. I wouldn't be surprised if he was just putting himself in a position to go to ORD if it were to arise, not to mention the extra pay.
