So, who is not paying for their porn when they check out? Thanks a lot to those of you that just made the convenience of charging meals to our rooms go away for the rest of us who actually pay our bills.

I actually didn't know that we could even charge anything to the rooms. I've always just paid for stuff up front. Room service will let you do CC

I thought the company went after the individual employee in these situations. Isn't that one of the reasons we put our name and employee number on the sign in sheet each night?

That used to be the case, but if you look on EPIC, there is a new ops note about not being able to charge to your room anymore.

I know, that's what I was referring to. What I was trying to say was I didnt' think this would be an issue because the company should know who's doing it and therefore could charge the individual employees instead of taking this action.

Hey, side question. Any of you guys ever jumpseated on Fedex out of CVG? Or anywhere for that matter. Thinking about it if I don't make it on my flight home Monday night. Flight is currently oversold by three and going via ORD isn't looking to good either, but Fedex via MEM is looking pretty feasible.

Been there, done that. You can call to list 24 hours in advance. If they have a seat, it's confirmed...YES CONFIRMED yours.

They ask you to arrive no later than 60 minutes before departure. You can bring whatever you can carry up the stairs to the a/c.

When you get to MEM, they escort you to a secure area where the commuter lounge is. It's a huge room that can seat hundreds. When it's time for your flight, they'll announce it and you meet the shuttle at the curb.

They also have a 24 hour cafeteria that's decent and affordable.

The A300's have very comfortable jump seats that recline and have foot rests. The DC-10's have difference configurations. Most of the time on them, everyone pulls the cushions off the seats after 10,000 feet and makes a bed.

PM me if you have any other questions.

Have fun in SFO.

Go to alpa.org and sign in. Select Jumpseat Committee under Committees. Click "Jumpseat guide," then scroll down to FedEx and you will find a link for their jumpseats. It will have all the info you need to know.

The above post is absolutely correct, and I might add that all the FedEX crews are great and really helpful.

Just two things to think about. Because it is a confirmed seat, I've heard they really frown on last minute cancellations or no shows. So make sure you have time to make the show time. The other thing is, you will be up all night. I usually get home at 0600. So sometimes it's better to just stay at base, get some sleep, and take the first flight out in the morning, which gets me in at 0930.

With that said, it is a GREAT alternative, especially if flight loads look terrible.
