Comair updates?

I don't see the logic behind the new vacancy bid. There are already 20 more captains than FO's on the 70/90 and they need 37 more captains and 14 more FO's. So that means we will have new totals of 219 captains and 176 FO's. Not to mention the minimum number of FO's they say they need is 180. Why do we need 43 more captains that FO's, and why are they putting themselves 4 FO's short of what they say they need? Does anyone ever even try to use their head over in the GO?
My guess, and one other nameless person who is banned at the moment, that is probably on top of the difference training that was canceled last month for the FO's. So who knows....
I caution everyone this.....the last time Delta told Comair to ramp up for more flying, Delta pulled the rug out from under everyone and we went from hire to furlough in one conference call. So keep your expectations in check.

I don't care if that is what it means or not. If I need to call someone and I am in a concourse I will call them. What do they expect, us to go to a bathroom stall to use the phone?

My guess this is to leave room for captains being displaced into the FO seat, I would guess the the bottom 20 or so FO's on the 7/9 are going to be displaced to the 50 seater...just a guess

No Cell Phones in The concourse, I guess Scheduling may have trouble getting ahold of me then. I must leave the SIDA area to make a call. I guess those pagers should be turned to the off position while in the SIDA area

The new policy regarding the use of personal electronic devices goes into effect
immediately. The use of personal electronic devices is not permitted by employees while
working within the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) or while performing jobs
in operational areas – unless the use of that device is directly related to the job function
being performed. This includes the use of such devices in places like the ramp, parts
rooms, concourses, or any time an employee is operating any type of motorized
equipment.
The key word here is WORKING. When I am walking around the concourse I am NOT WORKING. IF I WAS WORKING I WOULD BE GETTING PAID!!!
