It's probably for the better that you didn't get the long call, as all they would do is move you to short call once they burned through those guys. Good luck and keep your head up. Long call is nice, but it's not anything to write home about.

Long call is AMAZING when u live 2 hours away, I appreciate even ONE day of lc in the middle of 5 short calls because I live so far I have to drive up to NJ/NY on shortcall everday so I can appreciate just ONE day I dont have to drive up there........ What makes me mad is when people have LC and still are at their crashpads bc of the amounts of ready reserves etc they have its not worth it for them to go home. I live in PA, What I wouldnt do to have like 1 or 2 LC days a month to not have to drive........

Just remember it is only temporary. I too drove a long way to JFK which as you know will drive you insane. I was spending a ton on gas and 45$ a month just on tolls, which as a FO is like a months worth of top raman!
Sometimes I wish the bean counters at the GO would have to do the drive I did for a month and hell make scheduling do it too just to see what a two hour NYC traffic jam is like.
NYC is a horrible place to live and as long as they pay what they are paying people will continue to bid out and those that can't bid will leave for another company.

HOLD ON........DID YOU SAY $45 A MONTH IN TOLLS? Pretty sure I pay $17 a day!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean no disrespect by this but if you are this unhappy with your working conditions please move on. I know this board is a place to complain but between here and the ALPA board you seem miserable. Just my two cents.
