Comair updates?

no way that can even happen guys calm down. Unless we are sold first that wont happen. Our contract put a number on how many A/C we have to have on property and I can pretty much assure you if they took away that many A/C that they would be breaking the contract. Ill go check the numbers but i'm pretty sure.

The 35 planes do not have to leave all at once, could slow death. I remember 5 years ago sitting as FO listening to CA's speak of the Golden Egg Comair was to DAL, and noway can they downsize us do the things that have happened over the years. Well, CHQ, Freedom, Shutle America, Mesa (of all carriers), Pinnacle, ASA, SKW, Big Sky...(RIP) Eagle....TADA!
I hope you are correct that it is just rumor but to say it cannot happen, I would have to say history proves otherwise.
BTW, my last airline had 39 RJ's...equated to over 300 pilots.
Interesting when you look back at the last 3 months on everyone that has resigned from the GO. BTW, Selvaggio's specialty....downsizing.

I know Delta plans to park 35 RJs due to fuel but I doubt all gonna be Comiar's (well I hope not) if this is the same 35 RJs u heard. In training now and looks like were still hiring classes they are real small ,mine is 4 and the others about 5/6, two planes parked by the mx hangar stripped of Connection colors with one with the new tail scheme either there going away or just parked. I also heard a rumor that we are picking up some BigSky routes out of Boston?

WOUld like to add that you did mention we need to be sold first, which I have heard has been done. A firm in CVG is crunching numbers...again another rumor but how many signs does someone need....lol! Hang on for the ride! ....All we can do is prepare for what we can control which is position for the next step in whatever we choose to pursue.

The wording is this. Comair has to maintain 90% of its 50 seaters that were in the feet as of Feb 2007. Except any A/C that the leases were scheduled to expire during the LOA. (8 Scheduled to expire this year) They can take an additional 10% from the fleet to make the 90% number. The 50 seaters can be traded for 70-76 seat a/c on a 1-1 basis. So if anyone knows how many 50's were in the fleet as of Feb 2007 then you can figure out the actual number of 50's we are required to retain. The 900's we are getting were on a 1-1 trade and those 50's leaving the fleet have already been accounted for.
But then again that entire part of the agreement is void if Comair is sold.

I would be shocked if all 35 aircraft came from Comair.
Selvaggio has said that Delta made a mistake in contracting with so many Connection carriers, so don't be surprised if that number is also reduced in the very near future.
BTW, isn't this about the time of year new RFP's are released/modified, etc.???

A fellow forum poster and cohort of mine is flying an awefully strange flight this weekend. Starting tomorrow, we are flying a LGA-VPS-LGA trip. That's an awefully long time to be sitting in an RJ. I'm not sure if this is just a seasonal flight or not, but it seems to be operating every day for quite a few days starting tomorrow. Has anyone ever seen or flown this trip before? Is it mainly military pax, or beach goers?
