Ok, here is a question for you guys on Long Call...
I finish a trip Tuesday afternoon, I'm on L1 on Wed with no assignments, followed by hard days off. So, assuming they don't tag me Tuesday afternoon, can I just go home, 'cause on Wed., they can't release me later that 2 p.m.
I think this whole Long Call thing isn't all that great...

Long Call
The long call window is from 5am-3pm. If you have a trip that finishes later and nothing has been tagged to you, then it's pretty safe bet you can go home. But with your luck driver, they'll give you 9hrs notice for an out and back to LEX!

That's what I thought. It wouldn't surprise me if they tagged me. They took away my original trip (which is now in open time) to give me 2 deadheads and one flight.

Everybody needs to stop worrying about the upgrade it will come down. About 70% of the captains I fly with have been hired by somebody else or are trying to get out. I've flown with a few that are in the Southwest pool and a few going foreign and waiting for a class.
Things aren't that bad either. I've been here almost a year and I'm on reserve. I had 13 days off this month since I didn't get used on christmas or christmas eve and I'm getting 90+ hours of credit without picking up open time. It is what you make it.

Why can't they release you later than 2pm? If you dont have anythin scheduled on Wednesday then you are are LC1 until 2pm. They can call you at 11am for a 8pm report if they want for a ferry flight that releases in domicile at midnight if they wanted too. The only thing with 2pm I think is that you are automaticaly released if you havnt been called yet.
