Default NWA/Mesaba flow-through

Line rumor is that binding arbitration could lead to 3 Mesaba pilots per month flowing to NWA. Has anybody heard this?

Thats what I've hear also. The details are being worked out and need to be by Nov 1st or it goes to the arbitrator. They then have by Dec 1st, Jan 1st they start flowing at 3 a month until I believe Oct 08' then 10 a month.

Straight from the union...

"The Letter of Agreement between NWA and the NWA MEC allows for 3 Mesaba pilots to go to NWA each month, starting in January 2008, and 9 pilots each month commencing in October 2008 (provided NWA is actively hiring pilots)."

... will be finalized either way by December 1st.

Not quite. It will go in seniority order, and there will be some sort of preference bid. However, once a pilot bypasses, there is no going back. A bypass of the flow-up will be a final decision.

It's also worth mentioning that if a pilot chooses to bypass the flow up, they are immune to any future flow downs that may occur.

When/IF NWA furloughs, mainline guys can flow down to Mesaba. Yet for anyone that bypassed the flow up to NWA they will retain seniority to any NWA guys flowing back to Mesaba.

If both Compass and Mesaba pilots can flow up to NWA, which one gets picked first (assuming same NWA date of hire) to flow back ?
