Default Went to job fair today...

And saw 3 reps sitting by themselves @ the Mesa stand. I walked by a few times and saw only one "victim" that was interested in talking to them. The rest of the day, the Mesa bunch was just sitting down. The reps weren't even standing to make anything out of it... I also cruised to ASA, Mesaba, AWAC, TSA, Comair, American Eagle and Colgan.

I have an interview date for AWAC later this month and ASA early next month. Any suggestions on how to prep up for their tests? And what are some good regionals to aim for, for my first regional job? I'm single, 23 and don't mind relocating, however, I would prefer to live in Orlando and commute from there. Which regional is easiest to commute from MCO?

ASA is probably the most in your favor in my opinion. AWAC has issues along with long upgrade which is the same for Comair and Eagle. Colgan and TSA are bad work environments. I don't know anything on Mesaba but ASA has trip/duty rigs and Atlanta isn't hard to get to from Orlando.

As usual man you're right. I guess 23 non-stop flights on a Monday could be an issue. *cough* burned *cough* lol

Why did you feel the need to tell us you went to a job fair and obvious airlines didn't have people coming up to them? By the way congrats on the interview with AWAC.

AWAC
No test. No sim. Mostly HR and "what would you do if..." questions pertaining to flying. Study the gouges online, they expect you to have already done so.
Make sure you have a personality, they want more than just a flying robot.

Quoted upgrade time for AWAC from chief pilots=~2.5 years.

the easiest place to get to out of MCO would mostl likely be Eagle's SJU base. There are only 3 other people that commute on that route, its 11 flights a day and the smallest plane on that route is a spirit A319. Theres always plenty of open seats and youll never get bumped by the FAA doing a line check. Of course, youll never upgrade either.

Did that happen to be the Embry Riddle career fair in Daytona Beach? I'm from Orlando and would love to live there too. But, other than ASA in not sure which regional would be best.....

I guess I'm one of the very "few" that have the slightest idea of why Mesa/Gojet is so bad. Not everyone goes on forums like this one.
