well I know that Comair would have moved from the top to the bottom that is for sure. Face it all regionals that expect to hire a pilot for the first year crap pay that they offer are the bottom of the barrel companies. The regionals always have been and always will be crap. It is just a matter of which one is crappier then the other.

The one that hires you Seriously having flown for a "regional" for the last 6 years they are all about the same. Sure some have better pay, work rules, pass benefits, management/pilot relations, etc, but overall it's still a regional. I'll give you my breakdown.
Top Tier:
Comair
Express Jet
Skywest
Horizon
Air Wisconsin
Mid Tier:
ASA
Mesaba
Eagle
Chautauqua
Independence
Pinnacle
Mid Atlantic
PSA
Piedmont
Skyway
Trans States
Mesa
Lower Tier
Colgan
Great Lakes
Commute Air
Gulfstream
Just my opinon

Comair is without a doubt the best regional ever... they've given me all the time off I could ever ask for and then some...

Comair now ASA/Comair
Express Jet Holding on (didn't do so well with the independent carrier thing)
Skywest Seems to be doing well
Horizon Seems to be doing well, has a niche
Air Wisconsin Holding on
ASA See above
Mesaba Now PinneColSaba
Eagle may be divested
Chautauqua Now Republic/Chitauqua/Shuttle/Frontier/(RIP)Midwest
Independence Out of business
Pinnacle See above
Mid Atlantic Out of business
PSA (assuming you mean PSA not Pacific Southwest Airlines (RIP)) Holding on
Piedmont Holding on
Skyway Midwest Express (Midwest Airlines) regional, now out of business
Trans States (Holding on)
Mesa (Bankrupt (or soon out of bankruptcy)) Holding on
Colgan See PinneColSaba above
Great Lakes Holding on
Commute Air Holding on
Gulfstream Holding on (though the PFT is under the spotlight)
I mean do disrespect to any of the pilots at any of the above carriers. I am only trying to make the point that yesterday's PanAm can become today's PanAm.

Their contract and pay might be awesome, but it seems like 30 years senority is the only way to hold more than 11 days off. Every guy I've talked to in Detroit has 20-30 years senority and only gets 11 days off. Add to that 8 year F.O's on reserve. Not sure Comair will ever be an option for hiring in the next century.
