"Earn more hours in the air." Didn't know you could earn hours in the ground? (FTDs dont count)

You can if your original intent was to take off after you've started the engines. (Mechanical brought you have to the gate/ramp)

That's awesome! I wonder what Mesa's gonna come up with as a marketing response? Any clever ideas?

Scary.......It ought to be "No one gets the SJS highschooler to Captain's seat faster than Pinnacle" ...I recommend that 9E ALPA find the youngest looking pilots they have, preferably some that need a little Clearasil, put some braces on them, and have a round robin news conferences at all the hubs focusing on just how well they get paid......
And on the airplane, Captains announcement could go something like this: "Folks this is your Captain speaking, welcome aboard. My copilot Beaver is flying us today to Minneapolis and last year like this, he was Treasurer of his high schools Microsoft Flight Simulator Club, and a Captain at Northwest Airlink virtual airline...
...he joins us today with a tremendous amount of MS flight sim experience including time of MS Flight sims Boeing 777 and Boeing 747 jet aircraft. How bout a round of applause for Beav - if we encounter any taxi or deice delays, he may just earn enough hours to qualify to upgrade under our captain mentor program"

You're right, RickJames, no one should be a pilot under the age of 40, where their bodys have started the downward trend. As a matter of fact, I think NO ONE should fly ANY PASSNGER JET without have 1200 PIC turbo jet time which they have paid for out of pocket. That 35 year old working on his CPL is MUCH more safe than the 22 year old with a CPL and a ME rating and has twice the hours. They need to put a law on this stuff.
