I would kill for a Boston base, too bad i'm in ATL now. Where was BigSky flying out of BOS...ISP and such? I can't imagine Comair getting those routes again, they're the perfect length for the turboprops.

They took over some Bangor flying and Fredericton. They also went to Albany, NY, Quebec City and to Islip. Would love to have Comair pick that up (ISP), but it's too short to make any real money with a 50 seat RJ.

ORDMKE is shorter then ISPBOS...and between Eagle and United there are almost a dozen flights a day - using 50, as well as 66 seats...

Now Colgan will be the only one doing BOS-ISP-BOS. I noticed that begining in January they will have 4 trips a day.

True, but I think ISP and MKE are a little different.

Long Island residents can easily drive to LGA/JFK/EWR. With Southwest being in bed with the Islip government and having the airport by its cajones, Delta couldn't truly compete in terms of ticket prices. Plus, Delta's lack of advertising (in all markets) doesn't help. Most people didn't even know they could fly to Boston on Big Sky.

MKE area residents don't have much to choose from.

I have to disagree - Being a born-New Yorker, I can say that most people would rather NOT drive into one of the "big 3." Heck, I grew up in Queens, and I take the bus between home and LGA all the time, rather than drive the few miles it really is.

I have also lived in both MKE and ORD...the drive is not bad (easier than Eastern LI into NYC), but nothing beats driving to a Podunk airport w/cheap parking. That's why MKE works as well as it does (plus the direct flights to some great places on Midwest)...DAL would do great out of ISP, just as SWA does, if they would just commit to it.

I'm a lifelong NY'er too. I can tell you most New Yorkers are cheaper than the rest of the country. They'll drive to wherever the cheaper fares are. And at ISP that's southwest.
