Highly suggest you don't take this route. A young-ish pilot with mediocre credit loading up $10,000+ on plastic with a 16-23% rate... at regional FO pay you'll be living a financial hell paying that off. It's not worth it to fly a shiny jet.
But if you want to ruin your life, have at it.
But if you want to ruin your life, have at it.
It's hard to get an MEI job with 15 hours...even freelance is no-go because of club insurance. I know people who lingered WAY to long in ASEL because they refused on principle to buy their time.
It used to be that you could wrangle a little bit here, a little bit there, but insurance is getting tougher all the time.
For many folks the only other way might be to pack up and move for a job at one of the puppy mills...even then you might have to wait in seniority order for the twin.
If you have better ideas, let's hear them...

No, SkyWest won't consider you, >>>>>ok, had to delete this, too<<<<, until you have 1000 hours. Virtually any other regional that is hiring will, however.
As to San Diego, I commute from there, and while it's not too bad to Salt Lake, there are TONS of commuters in the area. I had to leave today to start a 10:20am show tomorrow (Fri). Plane completely full, and about 20% of the time, I'm in the actual jumpseat. Can you say two hour sore *ss every week?
If you can bump up that time, you might still be able to get on the Brasilia in SoCal, and won't have to commute. Those are scheduled to be phased out in 2010.

I understand there's a sense of urgency to "get in while the gettin's good." But I'd strong advise against blowing $10K on multi time to save a month or two.

With your credentials, I feel that Skywest is a loser for not hiring you. Who wouldn't hire a guy with WWII bomber experience? They should be worshiping you in my opinion.

Bro I have two family members there who have 20+ years of experience at US Air on the "East Side." *throws up a gang sign* To put things in perspective a guy with 18 years at US Air East will get furloughed before a guy of 7 at US Air West.
You have no idea what these guys have gone through. Think regional treatment at a major, loss of retirement, twice screwed over in mergers, furloughs ect.
Imagine where they are and respect that, because in this industry we could all be there in no time. You work at PSA, WTH is wrong with you?

Mostly, that's to take guys from Mesa. By the way, it's EXTREMELY effective... almost 1/4 of my new hire class was Mesa guys.
