Citationdrvrmob- just a quick couple of Q's- What are plane did you get? Is it true what they told us at the interview that the second class of the month is the one that has the ATR slots? I've been flying a jets for the past 4yrs so my jet fever is well over, but would like to get either the 200 or 700, so I hope this is the way that its working.

One of the recent classes, not sure which start date, had all people assigned to the 700. I could have held it in my class, but chose the 200. At the time, the info I had said reserve was alot shorter and you could fly more hours on the 200. Now I'm not so sure if that is the case. With that and rumors we are getting 900's at the end of the year (to be flown by 700 pilots), and more rumors we will be doing some flying out of SLC (although no base planned) in the near future, I sometimes wish I had taken the 700. I seriously doubt you'll have to worry about the ATR if you don't want it. Just think about it because right now there is a 36 month a/c lock.

Last I checked, a couple months. Half my class went to the 700. I made fun of the kids who got stuck with it. Now, I half wish I'd bid differently. Just remember, always bid for the position, that if the seniority and assignments froze tomorrow, you'd be happy flying.

Reduced winter flying and the IOE instructors bidding the line is slowing reserve times. I had two months of reserve, followed by four months of lines, and got reserve for March. I got converted to a solid line though, so life is still good. We'll probably see lines pick up again in the next few monts, thus reducing reserve.

Now when I ask this I'm just getting yalls opinion I know that ultimatley I will have to decide , but what aircraft do you think I should go for. I've currently been thinking the 200 so that I could get on the line asap but if the 700 is where all of the growth is plus the better lines do I suck it up and just do the year on reserve or more
. I did not know about the 36 mo. seat lock so now i'm definetly thinking of taking the reserve and bidding on the 700.

36 month Aircraft lock, not seat lock. Another rumor overheard is that upgrade requirements are about to be decreased because we are starting to run short on captains and the reserve captains are flying their tail ends off. Of course sometimes I wonder if people in management intentionally discuss this stuff where it can be overheard to see how fast a rumor gets back to them. It's amazing at some of the b.s. you'll hear on free lunch day at FSI.
