I stuck the Jungle Bus in Philly the other day, landing 27L because they were actually picking up trash on 27r, who'd of thought, in Philly even. Anyhow, go home leg, different runway, gotta get the first high speed or go all the way around to spot 1. 50...40..30.2010 ugh!!! If you didn't break it, it probably wasn't any worse than many others. Like everyone else you worry about it when you're new.

I always like the GPWS callouts:
"50.....40.....30.....10" (I think of SpaceBalls every time this happens)

Or

"50....40....SINK RATE......20....10"

Question: on a typical GPWS, does the sink rate callout get more sensitive the closer you are to the ground? Does it use some kind of rule like "if your altitude is X and your sink rate is X*2 fpm" then "SINK RATE!"?

Other than your formula, yes. The vertical speed alert threshold varies with RA readout.
